October 9, 2015 – The new first class Concorde Bar in Singapore’s Changi Airport marks the first in a series of luxury British Airways (BA) Concorde lounges opening across the world, designed by Honour Branding. The 41 seat, 110 sq.m. Concorde Bar in Changi has opened as part of the refurbishments in BA’s Singapore lounge areas.
After entering a passcode on a touchscreen next to the lounge entrance, BA’s first class guests can step inside to enjoy classic and contemporary design features mixed with the latest technology – from the private dining booths, to the OLED panels portraying scenes of the local Singapore skyline and cityscapes that change to reflect the time of day.
Commenting on the design, Mike Crump, partner at Honour (and previously head of design at BA) , said: “We designed the Concorde Bar to give British Airways’ first class customers a dedicated and intimate space, with an elegant and timeless interior. The focal point is a cabinetry wall bar crafted in blackened oak, akin to the kind you would find in a private residence. The discreet branding and entrance to the Concorde Bar has created an air of mystique to the lounge, offering an exclusive space for those in the know.”
BA has had Concorde Room lounges at Heathrow T5 and New York JFK for some years, but the new Concorde Bar in Singapore marks the beginning of an extension of the exclusive Concorde Room experience to other key airports around the world.
Florian Binder, worldwide lounge development manager at British Airways, said: “We are thrilled with the Concorde Bar. In an increasingly busy world, we wanted to give our travelers back the luxury of time – an intimate and quiet destination to relax in before the next part of their journey.”
