Aircraft lighting specialist, STG Aerospace, is introducing its latest innovation, the ‘Eco Everything’ concept, at Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2025 in Hamburg this week.
The concept builds on the success of the ‘saf-Tglo eco E1’ sustainable emergency floor path marking system which launched at AIX 2024. STG Aerospace has taken its learnings from that programme and plans to expand its design principles across its photoluminescent lighting range by the end of 2025. This will apply across all four widths of saf-Tglo SSUL-X (11mm, 18mm, 23mm and 36mm).
‘Eco everything’ will increase STG Aerospace’s use of recycled content from 50% to >80%, with its future goal being 100%. All the recycled materials used are ISCC certified, while a bio additive eliminates the use of ‘forever plastics’.
“We are making eco the standard for all our photoluminescent products, to help airlines and OEMs achieve the shared and urgent goal of net zero, said STG’s business unit director, Dr Sean O’Kell. “We are proud to have saf-Tglo products operating on more than 10,000 aircraft with 300 airlines.”
