The latest addition to the product range at Mirus Aircraft Seating is Hawk LR, a slimline enhanced comfort economy-class seat designed specifically for installation in wide-body aircraft with high-density cabin configurations.
The Hawk LR model joins the fully featured Falcon economy class seat launched at AIX 2023, to complete the Mirus family of economy seats designed for long-range aircraft. The company says the range will be complemented with the launch of an all-new premium economy seat in 2025, which can also serve as a domestic first-class seat on narrowbody aircraft.
The first shipsets of Hawk LR will be delivered to the as-yet unnamed launch customer in Q1 2025 for its fleet of Airbus A330 aircraft, configured in a nine-abreast layout, initially via retrofit and from 2026 via Airbus line-fit.
Specific features selected by the launch customer include enhanced levels of seat cushioning, four-way headrests, USB power systems, and bespoke dress covers to align with the airline’s branding.
Marcus Williams, Mirus’ global sales & marketing director, said of the launch: “At a time when the distinction between aircraft types and flight distances is becoming increasingly blurred, Hawk LR fills a specific and growing gap in the market for airlines looking to order new seats or re-fit their existing widebody aircraft into high-density layouts capable of transporting a high number of passengers over relatively shorter distances.
“With the first customer confirmed, initially for retrofit and then line-fit in January 2026, we are excited to add this new derivative of our best-selling Hawk economy seat to our line-up.”
