Recaro has reported that in FT2022 Recaro generated nearly €425 million and employed 2,500 personnel across its business divisions, which include Recaro Aircraft Seating, Recaro Gaming and Growag (rail seating).
Key parts of Recaro’s 2022 future growth strategy included double-digit investment in Growag, as well as a €50m investment in an aircraft seating crash facility and flame lab, followed by further expansions in China and Germany.
Aircraft seating
Recaro’s aircraft seating division celebrated its 50-year anniversary in 2022, and also won major customer contracts, which included Etihad selecting the CL3710, IndiGo choosing the BL3710, and the Lufthansa Group ordering 24,000 economy seats (CL3710 and CL3810). In addition, the company also launched its first-ever front row monument, built in-house with composite materials, and customised for Iberia.
Gaming
Recaro Gaming pivoted its strategy in 2022 to meet customer demand in the German gaming market. The company partnered with the likes of Porsche, collaborating on a limited edition gaming seat inspired by the Porsche 911 GT3. In addition, the Recaro Exo Platinum Sky seat was selected for the Xbox Corner at Berlin’s interactive electronics experience, Saturn Xperion.
Growag
Growag is the newest addition to the Recaro portfolio. In 2022, the Poland-based rail seating company produced more than 26,000 seats and generated the highest revenue in company’s history. The company also celebrated 50 years of rail seating in 2022 and has its sights set on further expansion.
Sustainability
Recaro says sustainability is rooted in its long-term vision for success, with a a strong focus on developing sustainable materials, optimising supply chains and reducing its carbon footprint.
