In celebration of International Women’s Day 2021 and Women’s History Month, Global Eagle is collaborating with The WOW Foundation (see below) to enable airline passengers to watch presentations from its 10th anniversary WOW (Women of the World Festival 2020) onboard.
Global Eagle’s airline customers have the option to add inspirational talks from writer, academic and broadcaster Emma Dabiri, author and social media figure Layla Saad, and feminist activist and journalist Caroline Criado-Perez to their IFE offering.
Terri Davies, senior vice president of Global Eagle stated, “Our collaboration with WOW is an important step towards diversifying the inflight entertainment content airlines can offer to passengers. I am delighted to support the foundation in spreading awareness of WOW Festivals and the fantastic speakers they attract. We hope to extend our partnership with The WOW Foundation to continue to provide our clients with engaging and empowering content.”
About the WOW Foundation
The WOW Foundation was created by Jude Kelly CBE in 2018, to run the global movement that is WOW – Women of the World Festivals. The festivals began in the UK in 2010, launched by Kelly at the Southbank Centre in London, where she was artistic director, to celebrate women and girls, taking a frank look at what prevents them from achieving their potential, raising awareness globally of the issues they face, and discussing solutions together.
