Russia and CIS-based MRO, S7 Technics, has received EASA Part-21 G approval to manufacture aircraft cabin carpet. The carpet production shop, located in Novosibirsk, previously worked under EASA Part-145 approval, but now each new carpet product will be released with EASA Form 1. This certificate enables S7 to produce stock of such carpets, which can be moved between S7 Technics’ MRO bases.
“Fabrication of aircraft cabin carpets under the EASA Part-145 approval has certain advantages, but also a number of limitations. Therefore airline representatives have increasingly expressed their wish to obtain new carpets with the EASA Form 1 certificate, in order to organise a more rapid replacement, commented Mikhail Golovanov, EASA.21G.0029 quality assurance manager at S7 Technics.
The certified production shop has 320 sq. m. area, with six specialists involved in the production of carpets under EASA Part-21 G approval. Only certified materials from leading manufacturers – Lantal, Anker and Botany Weaving – are used in the production of S7’s aircraft cabin carpets. The production shop has manufacturing capacity of at least 1,500 carpets per year.
