Aircraft cabin component design, manufacture, repair and on-wing maintenance company, Trenchard Aviation Group, has donated aircraft carpeting to Aerobility, a charity that offers disabled people the opportunity to participate in a range of aviation activities.
Aerobility is currently working to build its own airplane from scratch. Named the Zenair CH750 STOL, the aircraft will be the first airplane in the UK to have been built and flown by a team of disabled people. Once completed it will be used on a daily basis by the charity’s licensed disabled flyers for general aviation practice and may be used to provide therapeutic flying experiences for new and current flyers who cannot use standard controls.
Trenchard Aviation Group has donated sufficient carpet to cover the cockpit of the airplane.
Mike Miller-Smith, CEO of Aerobility, commented, “We’re delighted to have received this donation from Trenchard Aviation Group. It is only with this kind of generosity that we will succeed in completing our aeroplane project and continue giving people with disabilities the chance to experience the freedom that flying can bring.”
