Aircalin, a French airline and the international carrier of New Caledonia, has announced that it is investing in the digitisation of its day-to-day cabin crew processes and the strengthening of its commercial offering to passengers by deploying SITAONAIR’s cabin connectivity systems.
One system is CrewTab tablet interface for cabin crew, which will be implemented across the airline’s A330neo and A320neo aircraft and is intended to streamline workflows by optimising cabin crew processes. CrewTab digitises previously paper-based processes, making information more readily available and accessible for cabin crews during preparation and briefing, inflight and immediately afterward. This efficiency, in turn, reduces any associated delays caused by lost documents or time spent filling in forms and enhances end-to-end cabin crew operations and communication. By integrating with an airline’s air-ground IT systems, CrewTab synchronises processes, standardising data flow to make information analytics-ready and easy to assess.
The paper and associated weight reduction which occur as a result of the digitization process are dramatically improved, amplifying fuel economy and reducing environmental impact.
CrewTab also enables weight reductions through reduced paperwork and can help enhance customer service and passenger relationships by providing cabin crew with information regarding passengers’ individual needs.
SITAONAIR is also supplying Aircalin with a bespoke Internet ONAIR high-speed wi-fi portal, over Inmarsat’s GX Aviation network, providing onnectivity on popular tourist routes including to Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.
Aircalin CEO, Didier Tappero, commented, “The adoption of the connected CrewTab solution and Internet ONAIR portal enables our airline to modernise in synchronicity with the aviation industry. Not only are we saving time and costs, but we’re also providing a more personal and individualised experience for each of our passengers, as well as making a commitment to improved fuel economy.”
