The latest new product rollout as part of British Airways’ 100th anniversary celebrations is Celebrate BA100, a dedicated IFE channel that will run throughout August, September and October, highlighting the best entertainment content shown by the airline over the years. A particular highlight is The Lost World, an American silent fantasy monster adventure, which was the first film ever shown on an Imperial Airways flight in 1925.
Customers can also viewBritish favourites including Billy Elliott, romantic comedies Four Weddings and a Funeral and Notting Hill and award-winning movies including Shakespeare In Love. The television selection includes iconic episodes from Blue Planet to Ab Fab, as well as Downton Abbey.
In audio, 100-minute centenary mixes have been specially created by leading DJs including Groove Armada, Paul Oakenfold and Deadmau5.
The Celebrate BA100 category is available on the majority of the airline’s IFE systems (approximately two-thirds of the long-haul fleet). Other systems will have a subset of the content.
