Aircraft humidity control systems specialist, CTT Systems, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus Corporate Jets to optimise a humidification system for the ACJ320 Family of aircraft. Cabin humidity is typically low in VIP passenger aircraft cabins, but a humidification system can increase relative humidity levels to more than 20% by continuously introducing moisture, which improves passenger comfort. If a dryer is combined with the humidifier, moisture build-up in insulation blankets can be avoided, to help achieve balanced humidity.
“Airbus Corporate Jets lead in the comfort and space that we deliver to passengers, and introducing the option of better cabin humidification is part of our focus on continually improving the travel experience”, says Airbus Corporate Jets President Benoit Defforge.
The CTT believes that VIP passengers on long-haul flights with humidification systems can benefit from a reduction of dry air related problems such as fatigue, jet-lag, red eyes, dry skin and even the spread of virus diseases, as well as improved well-being and sleep. The CTT system uses evaporative cooling technology that effectively precludes the transfer of bacteria and improves air quality by reducing particles in the cabin air. The system also offers anti-condensation protection.
