SkylogistiX, a joint venture between Spiriant and Kuehne + Nagel, has signed an agreement to implement a ‘Global Supply Chain Control Tower’ service to manage the inflight supply chain for British Airways (BA). The agreement is for five years, and it includes the implementation of the SkyLog software.
The SkyLog Control Tower will be responsible for the forecasting, planning and inventory management of all onboard products globally, including forecasting equipment requirements and ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time to achieve 100% service levels while minimizing costs; operational management of all onboard products and suppliers globally; and operational management of all freight-forwarding suppliers worldwide.
This service expands the SkylogistiX services already provided to British Airways, including the production, publication and maintenance of aircraft catering and equipment stowage plans for all aircraft types operating on British Airways routes.
“We have been working with British Airways for a number of years, and we are delighted to increase the scope of services to support their visionary supply-chain transformation project,” said Gerard Roche, managing director of SkylogistiX. “We will continue to build on the deep understanding of their business we have developed through the years, as well as the introduction of our SkyLog software to build a world-class Supply Chain Control Tower.”
