Emirates is the first airline to introduce web virtual reality (VR) technology on its digital platform to demonstrate its onboard product and seat models. The airline’s website, emirates.com, now features a visualization engine that displays an immersive 3D 360° view of the three-class Airbus A380 interiors, with renderings of Emirates’ entire fleet including all configurations of the A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft to follow. This new feature allows users to explore the economy, business and first class cabins, as well as the onboard lounge and shower spa on the A380, using navigational hotspots. When customers find a seat they like, they can even book that seat from within the 3D environment.
You can watch a video walkthrough of the system HERE.
Users can enjoy hands-free cabin navigation and seat selection by using any VR headset, with no external applications or plugins required. The 3D seat models were created in partnership with Renacen, which won the Visionary Concept category of the 2018 Crystal Cabin Awards.
