Acro – Manufacturing engineer

Acro has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with previous experience of supplier development and working within a New Product Introduction (NPI) environment to join our fast-growing business.

Working within the operations department and closely with the quality, design engineering, NPI and production teams, the Manufacturing Engineer will support in improving multiple disciplines. Resolving day-to-day manufacturing issues and ensuring that the manufacturing processes are the most suitable and cost effective in relation to our products and production volumes is a key focus of this position.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to work closely with and develop our key suppliers in ensuring zero defects upon delivery whilst continuing to drive costs down. Supporting NPI and engineering activities to ensure that all changes and new developments meet design for manufacture, design for reliability and design for cost targets whilst managing a timely and effective introduction into the manufacturing process is essential.

To be successful in this position you will have:
• A mechanical engineering degree or equivalent
• Significant post-graduate experience within a manufacturing engineering position and a sound understanding of current and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques
• Experienced with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement approaches
• Previous experience in NPI is essential
• Demonstrable experience of supplier development
• PC skills to include Microsoft Office programs and ideally some previous exposure to Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A strict attention to detail
• Proactive problem-solving skills
• A “can do” attitude
