Acro – Certification engineer

Acro has an excellent opportunity for a Certification Engineer with experience in aircraft seating / interiors to join its fast-growing business.

Working within the engineering department, the Certification Engineer will lead a range of certification activities across multiple seating projects. This is a great opportunity to work closely with the relevant authorities and airframe manufacturers to deliver certification documents and activities in line with the program and business requirements. Key areas of focus will include static, dynamic, flammability, HIC and environmental certification plans and reports.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Certification Engineer to add value to the business by compiling, reviewing and submitting certification and technical publishing documentation for seating projects; and keeping up to date with regulatory materials and developing best practice processes and documentations for the business whilst working closely with the external authorities.

To be successful in this position you will have:
• An engineering degree and significant post-graduate experience within certification
• Previous experience of applying certification activities to aircraft seating or aircraft interiors
• Demonstrable experience of writing and reviewing test plans, reports and qualification documents
• The ability to analyze and recommend a course of action and/or provide innovative solutions
• A confidence in making clear and unambiguous decisions in a fast-paced and pressured environment
• A natural ability to communicate across a business and build relationships internally as well as externally with authorities
• Experience of authoring modification paperwork for an aerospace application
• Demonstrable experience of dealing with aerospace authorities and airframe manufacturers
• Previous experience as a CVE for a part 21 (A)DOA highly desired
• Strong negotiation, project management, structured problem solving and organizational skills
