CAD design engineer with CATIA v5 experience

The job
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Generation of 3D CATIA models, drawings, design schemes, Digital Mock Up (DMU), Bills of Materials, presentations, and associated supporting data for the allocated project(s)
• Ensuring all outputs from the design office are correct to the project requirements as stated by the client methods and processes
• To assist with the transmission, control and logging of data transfers
• To assist with feasibility studies on new projects
• To assist with design and development of test rigs, samples and reports
• To assist with liaison activities with suppliers as and when required
• To undertake such other duties which may arise from time to time and are consistent with the nature of the position and level of responsibility

Required skills and experience:
• Degree or apprenticeship in an engineering discipline, preferably with a working background in the aerospace industry
• Excellent working knowledge and experience of CATIA v5
• Strong engineering and technical background, including working knowledge of GD&T, technical drawing, PDM, DFM and manufacturing techniques
• Practical understanding of design optimization, with an emphasis on weight, cost, manufacturing and timescale savings
• Experience of working within a design office or shop floor environment is desirable
• Experience of working within a small team would be desirable
• Experience of automation or coding would be desirable
