Greater long-haul comfort for airberlin passengers
Germany’s second largest airline, airberlin, is continuing with its programme of product improvements, from the design of the cabin, to the in-flight refreshments and IFE.
As part of extending the flight services offered, particularly to the United Arab Emirates and North America, airberlin has been enhancing the level of comfort on board its A330-200 long-haul fleet. In Economy Class, new seats equipped with anti-thrombosis cushions and individually adjustable head rests offer improved comfort. In Business Class, passengers now benefit from fully automatic reclining seats. A new in-flight entertainment system is also now standard in both Business Class and Economy Class on the majority of airberlin’s A330-200s. Each seat is equipped with a monitor, which allows the passenger to choose his own programme of entertainment from the wide range on offer.
The upgrade of all long-haul aircraft cabins with the new seats and in-flight entertainment system should be completed in August.
airberlin’s in-flight service is an integral part of the comfort initiative. From now on, customers in Economy Class will also receive headphones free of charge to enjoy the new entertainment programme. In terms of in-flight refreshments, the Economy Class on long-haul flights now features an expanded complimentary drinks service to include a selection of aperitifs, wines, sparkling wines, beers and liqueurs. Customers are still offered a wide range of newspapers and magazines, as well as an amenity kit on night flights.
